Depression and anxiety are common, one in three young women experience them and almost one in two adults experience a mental illness at some time.
Everyone has bad times that make them feel stressed, low or worried. It’s a normal part of life.
It’s time to seek help if the feelings last for more than two weeks and they are affecting your life (school, TAFE, University, work, sport, interests) and relationships (family, friends).
Seeking early help means you can get back on track early. Leaving it until later means recovery is more difficult.
The general rule is that if you know something isn’t quite right, talk to someone. Feeling stressed, low or worried are so common that they rate in the top three reasons why people see a doctor!
Remember, the three C’s, anxiety and depression. It is:
- Common
- Can affect anyone
- Curable. With help, people recover.
